Machine Sensor

Working in collaboration with Trelleborg Australia, UQ is designing a cheap and effective method to track and record the durability and status of number of different Trelleborg products. The final system will use LoRAWAN to transmit sensor data to and from a database accessable by the end user of Trelleborg products.

An example of a product Trelleborg produces.

The sensors will assist the company to enrich their products. The final design will be able to detect and listen for impacts/breakages in any product with the sensor embedded, and alert operators through one of several methods.

This project is being undertaken by UQ ITEE student Liam Hoffman under the supervision of Dr Alex Pudmenzky from UQ and Jorge Troncoso from Trelleborg.
